KSRJMS follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, https://publicationethics.org) and the ICMJE Recommendations, and expects authors, reviewers and editors to meet the standards below.

Authors must:

  • submit only original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere
  • list as authors only those who made a substantial contribution, with all agreeing to the final version
  • cite all sources accurately and obtain permission for reused material
  • report data honestly, without fabrication, falsification or selective reporting
  • declare all funding sources and conflicts of interest
  • obtain ethics committee approval, informed consent and, for trials, prospective registration
  • follow the ICMJE Recommendations on authorship, conflicts of interest and data sharing
  • disclose any use of generative AI tools
  • inform the journal promptly of any significant error found after publication

Reviewers must:

  • review only manuscripts within their expertise and decline if they have a conflict of interest
  • keep manuscripts confidential and not use unpublished content for their own work
  • give objective, constructive and timely reports
  • alert the editor to suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication or data manipulation

Editors must:

  • judge manuscripts only on their academic merit, without regard to authors' nationality, gender, religion, institution or beliefs
  • keep the identities of reviewers and authors confidential under double-blind review
  • declare and manage their own conflicts of interest
  • investigate allegations of misconduct following COPE flowcharts

Handling misconduct. Suspected misconduct is investigated confidentially. Outcomes may include rejection, a correction, an expression of concern, retraction, informing the authors' institutions, and a ban on future submissions.
